MIKE SWEENEY (MJSween2003)

Class of 2011
1-Time Super Bowl Champion

Coach Mike Sweeney started his MOF career on the right foot. Entering in Season 6, he won 12 games with the 49ers and made the playoffs right off the bat. He then had a 6 season playoff streak, where he made the playoffs every single season he was involved in the MOF. He finally missed the playoffs in Season 13 with the Packers. During Season 14 Coach Sweeney resigned before the playoffs started, giving up his 13-3 season with the Chargers. He then took a 3 season hiatus, before returning in Season 17 with the Chicago Bears. This would prove to be Coach Sweeney's best season. After years of falling short in the playoffs, and once in the Super Bowl, Coach Sweeney finally won the big one. After the championship Coach Sweeney retired, and hasn't come out of retirement since. We hope to one day get him back on the field, but for his hard work and excellence season in and season out, he will be forever enshrined in the MOF hall of fame.

"Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for electing me in the hallowed halls of the MOF! Over the years, leagues have come and gone but the MOF continues to stand strong while other leagues have wilted away. The reason for this is simple: the continued pursuit of excellence."

"Excellence is often pursued, but rarely attained. The MOF has attained that excellence through it's leaders and owners, who have maintained and improved the MOF standard over time by exhibiting outstanding sportsmanship, fair play, and a sense of pride and community second to none."

"Behind that pursuit of excellence has been Jeff Dypko, who through thick and thin as well as having to deal with hardheaded knuckleheads like myself (and Sammy Tampons lol), has never wavered in the end in making this a first-class experience. Through his hard work and dedication, and despite an immense workload, Jeff has made the MOF the best damn league. Period."

"Behind that excellent leadership is a collection of colorful characters who have supplied the ink to Jeff's artistry. The owners I would like to thank, going back to season 6, are the following: Pauly Mendes, John Healy, Dan Dolan, Scott Lewis, Roclo, John Fox, Chris Donnelly, Rob Powers, Vin Manners, Grant d'Elia, Tony Thrift, Chance Sampsel, Kurt Kenworthy, Brandon Weakland, Jason Fontaine, Paul DelGreco, Carey St. Hilaire, Jason St. Hilaire, Kevin McGuire, Jagsforever, Thomas Betts, Dan Holleman, Larry Littrell, Josh Nelson, and anyone who I made an acquaintance with in this great league."

"Thank you all for making this league what it is! "
