The Minnesota Vikings have decided to part ways with former 1st round pick JJ McCarthy. The often injured Quarterback who lost the starting job last season to Kyler Murry. But with the Vikings choosing not to resign Murry, McCarthy thought he might have a shot at the starting job again. Those thoughts were short lived once draft night came and the Vikings used 2 picks on Quarterbacks. With that, the question was, would he be cut or traded. The Vikings entertained team inquiries through training camp. With McCarthy falling to 3rd on the depth cart for week 1, a trade was imminent. The Carolina Panthers came calling and the Vikings answered. Good luck JJ, thanks for all your hard work.
