Anybody can look at an overall rating. This ranking is about something bigger: which roster gives you the best chance to win now, survive four-plus seasons, develop young talent, manage the cap and keep the franchise window open for the entire Madden 27 cycle.
Selecting a team is the most important moment of any Madden 27 franchise. A loaded roster can make the first season easier, but the best franchise teams are the ones that can survive an entire edition. We are assuming the MOF cycle lasts at least four seasons, which means age, contracts, draft capital and long-term positional stability matter just as much as the stars you inherit on launch day.
This year's rankings are built from data provided by The 4 Verts, with MOF commentary layered on top. The numbers give us the structure; the goal of this column is to explain what those numbers actually mean when you are staring at the Season 87 team draft board.
This is not a Madden overall-rating list. A team can be loaded in August and still become a nightmare by Year 3. We are looking at the entire franchise picture.
Every team is ranked across nine categories, with 1 being best and 32 being worst. The final score blends those categories into an overall franchise ranking.

These are the teams with the fewest compromises. They either dominate multiple premium categories or combine enough youth, talent and roster flexibility to enter Season 87 with a championship-level foundation.
Matthew Stafford gives the Rams a 99-overall veteran trigger man, and Puka Nacua is a 98-overall matchup nightmare who can win from anywhere. The 6th-ranked offensive line and 9th-ranked weapons mean you do not need to reinvent the offense on Day 1. Stafford is the short-term answer, but rookie Ty Simpson is the long-term storyline — he can sit, develop, and eventually inherit a loaded offense.
This is the scariest part of the roster. Myles Garrett is a 99-overall game-wrecker and immediately explains the #1 optimal rush, while the Rams also grade 3rd against the run and 7th in coverage. You can create pressure without selling out, which lets the secondary play aggressively and makes this defense brutally difficult to scheme against.
The Rams are 4th in YPI and 4th in salary cap, so the roster is both talented and sustainable. The only real warning is the 32nd-ranked draft capital. You are inheriting Stafford, Garrett, Nacua and a championship-ready core, but Ty Simpson's development matters because there may not be many premium draft picks available to find the next quarterback later.
Detroit is built around Jahmyr Gibbs, the highest-rated running back in Madden 27 at 98 overall, with Amon-Ra St. Brown at 95 and Penei Sewell at 98 anchoring everything up front. That is why the Lions own the #1 weapons ranking. Jared Goff remains the established starter, but rookie Luke Altmyer is a developmental wild card who could become very interesting if he ever earns a real opportunity.
The Lions do not have one dominant defensive category, but they have impact talent everywhere. Aidan Hutchinson gives the front a true difference-maker, while Brian Branch and Kerby Joseph make the secondary dangerous. Ranking 11th in rush, 12th in run defense, and 10th in coverage makes Detroit one of the most complete two-way rosters in the game.
Detroit's #1 Youth Power Index is the biggest reason I love this team for a multi-season cycle. Gibbs, Sewell, St. Brown, Hutchinson and Branch are not just stars — they are stars you can keep building around. With 8th-ranked draft capital and a manageable 12th-ranked cap, the Lions have very few long-term pressure points.
Philadelphia's offense starts with the #2 offensive line, and Lane Johnson remains an elite 97-overall tackle. Saquon Barkley and DeVonta Smith give Jalen Hurts explosive answers at every level. The fascinating wrinkle is rookie Cole Payton: Hurts is still the guy, but if a future coach ever wants to move on, Payton gives the franchise a developmental option instead of forcing an immediate rebuild.
The Eagles can still dictate games defensively. Jalen Carter gives the interior a dominant presence, Zack Baun is a 92-overall playmaker, and young corners Quinyon Mitchell and Cooper DeJean give the secondary a long runway. The #2 run defense is the headline, while the 8th-ranked rush gives Philly plenty of ways to create negative plays.
The Eagles are only 14th in YPI and 22nd in salary cap, but the 3rd-ranked draft capital changes the picture. This is still a roster that can contend immediately while restocking through the draft. If Cole Payton develops, Philadelphia could even have a built-in succession plan at the most expensive position on the roster.
Denver's offense is built from the inside out. Garett Bolles and Quinn Meinerz headline the #1 offensive line, which gives the coach a massive margin for error in both the run game and pass protection. The weapons rank only 22nd, so this roster badly needs another dynamic skill player, but elite blocking gives you time to find one.
The Broncos are loaded where Madden games are often decided. Patrick Surtain II is a 97-overall shutdown corner and drives the #3 coverage ranking, while the front ranks 4th in optimal rush. You can play aggressive coverage, trust Surtain outside, and create pressure without constantly needing extra bodies.
Denver sits 9th in YPI and 8th in draft capital, which is a strong combination for fixing the weapons room. The 20th-ranked cap is not ideal, but it is manageable. This roster already owns premium pieces at corner and offensive line — two of the hardest position groups to build from scratch.
The Chiefs remain one of the easiest offenses to trust because Patrick Mahomes is still the centerpiece, Creed Humphrey is a 95-overall anchor, and the roster ranks 3rd on the offensive line and 5th in weapons. There are almost no bad answers here. If the coach can protect Mahomes and stay patient, Kansas City can attack every blade of grass.
Chris Jones remains the tone-setter on defense and gives Kansas City a star who can wreck protections by himself. The Chiefs are solid against the run at 7th, but the 27th-ranked coverage is the weakness that opponents will hunt. Against elite passing users, the secondary will need help from Jones and the front.
Kansas City ranks 7th in YPI and 4th in draft capital, so there is enough youth and ammunition to keep the machine going. The challenge is the 27th-ranked salary cap. Mahomes gives you permanent quarterback stability, but the coach will have to draft well because paying every veteran is not going to be possible.
Baltimore gives you two X-Factor monsters immediately: Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry. Add Mark Andrews and Zay Flowers, and the 3rd-ranked weapons group makes the offense incredibly difficult to defend. The only issue is the 24th-ranked offensive line, so the coach may need to lean on Lamar's movement and quick-game concepts until protection improves.
The defense is every bit as intimidating. Roquan Smith and Kyle Hamilton give the middle of the field elite speed and intelligence, while Trey Hendrickson adds another proven pass rusher. Baltimore ranks #1 against the run, 6th in coverage, and 7th in optimal rush. There really is no comfortable way to attack this unit.
The Ravens are 11th in YPI, but the long-term challenge is resources: 23rd in draft capital and dead last at 32nd in salary cap. This is a win-now roster with superstar pieces. If you take Baltimore, the first few seasons should be about maximizing Lamar, Henry, Roquan and Hamilton before the cap starts forcing hard decisions.
Buffalo begins with the most valuable advantage in the game: Josh Allen at 99 overall. James Cook gives the backfield another elite threat, and Dion Dawkins helps keep the line stable. The Bills rank #1 at quarterback, 10th on the line, and 12th in weapons, so the offense can survive almost any matchup even without a perfect supporting cast.
The defense is more ordinary. Buffalo ranks 8th against the run, but just 23rd in rush and 17th in coverage. That means the coach may need to manufacture pressure and lean on situational defense rather than expecting the front to dominate every week.
The Bills are 10th in YPI and 8th in draft capital, which gives the roster enough young value to keep improving. The problem is the 29th-ranked cap. When Josh Allen is your quarterback, you can live with some roster churn — but every bad contract around him becomes more expensive.
Tampa Bay has a sturdy offensive foundation even though the weapons rank only 29th. Tristan Wirfs is a 95-overall tackle, Baker Mayfield remains a solid veteran quarterback, and Bucky Irving gives the backfield real juice. The 7th-ranked offensive line should keep the unit functional while the coach searches for another high-end weapon.
The defense has stars at every level. Vita Vea can wreck the interior, and Antoine Winfield Jr. gives the secondary a 93-overall playmaker. Tampa ranks 10th in rush, 9th against the run, and 11th in coverage, making this one of the most balanced defensive profiles outside the elite tier.
The concern is age and replacement cost. Tampa is 30th in YPI, so several key contributors may need successors during the cycle. The 12th-ranked draft capital and 13th-ranked cap are good enough to manage that transition, but this is a roster that should try to win early.
The second tier is where roster preference starts to matter. Every team here has a path to immediate success, but each comes with one or two weaknesses that a coach will have to scheme around or attack in the first offseason.
The Chargers are built around Justin Herbert, a 90-overall Superstar quarterback, and Rashawn Slater, one of the best left tackles in the game. Ladd McConkey gives the offense a dangerous young target, but the weapons still rank only 21st. The quarterback is solved; the mission is surrounding him with more explosive help.
Derwin James Jr. is the centerpiece of the defense and a 93-overall X-Factor who can erase mistakes all over the field. Coverage ranks 8th, but the run defense falls to 26th and the rush to 20th. The secondary can hold up, but the front needs more help if Los Angeles wants to become complete.
The Chargers are 12th in YPI and 9th in salary cap, which is a strong base for a multi-season build. Draft capital is only 22nd, but Herbert, Slater and James give the franchise premium cornerstones at three difficult positions.
New England has become one of the most intriguing offensive teams because Drake Maye is already a 92-overall X-Factor and A.J. Brown gives him a true alpha receiver. The Patriots rank 3rd at quarterback and 8th on the offensive line. That combination gives the coach a real chance to be aggressive immediately instead of treating this like a rebuild.
The Patriots own the #1 coverage ranking, and Christian Gonzalez at 98 overall is the reason. Add Kevin Byard, Milton Williams, and other veteran pieces, and New England can make passing windows extremely tight. The weakness is the 27th-ranked run defense, so physical teams will test the box.
New England is 16th in YPI, 18th in salary cap, and only 29th in draft capital. Still, Maye and Gonzalez are exactly the kind of young superstar anchors you want for a full Madden cycle. The roster does not need a teardown — it needs targeted upgrades.
Seattle's offense has one of the most dangerous individual weapons in the entire game: Jaxon Smith-Njigba at 99 overall. Sam Darnold gives the offense a veteran quarterback, while Cooper Kupp adds another savvy route-runner. The issue is protection — the offensive line ranks 28th, so the coach cannot expect every deep concept to survive.
The Seahawks can build a nasty defense around Devon Witherspoon and Leonard Williams. They rank 9th in rush and 5th against the run, with enough secondary talent to play aggressively even though overall coverage sits at 21st.
Seattle's #2 YPI makes this one of the best long-term rosters on the board. The 26th-ranked draft capital is not great, but a 17th-ranked cap is manageable. JSN and Witherspoon are the kind of young stars who can define an entire Madden edition.
San Francisco still has absurd offensive firepower. Christian McCaffrey is 97 overall, George Kittle is 96, and Mike Evans adds another elite veteran weapon. The 49ers rank #2 in weapons and 8th on the offensive line. Even with quarterback ranked only 20th, the supporting cast can carry a huge amount of the load.
The defense still has game-breakers. Fred Warner is a 97-overall X-Factor, Nick Bosa remains one of the league's premier rushers, and the run defense ranks 5th. The problem is 29th-ranked coverage, which means the secondary can be attacked if the front does not get home.
The 49ers are a classic win-now franchise: 29th in YPI and 30th in salary cap. The good news is 8th-ranked draft capital. If you love veteran superstars, this roster is loaded; if you want a clean four-year rebuild, you will have work to do quickly.
The Bears have one of the most exciting quarterback foundations in the game with Caleb Williams already up to 90 overall. Joe Thuney is a 96-overall guard, Rome Odunze gives the passing game a young weapon, and the offense ranks 2nd at quarterback, 12th on the line, and 11th in weapons. There is no major offensive emergency here.
Jaylon Johnson gives Chicago a 90-overall corner to build the secondary around. The Bears rank 13th in coverage and 18th against the run, but the 26th-ranked rush is the obvious weakness. Improving the edge group could turn this from a good roster into a serious contender.
Chicago is only 18th in YPI and lacks premium draft capital at 24th, but the most important position is already solved. If Caleb continues developing, every future roster move becomes easier because the coach is never forced into quarterback desperation.
Houston's offensive rankings look average, but there are still real weapons. Nico Collins is a 90-overall X-Factor, while David Montgomery gives the backfield a physical option. C.J. Stroud is only 76 overall in Madden 27 right now, which helps explain the 15th-ranked quarterback score. The offense needs protection and consistency more than a total rebuild.
The defense is the reason this team is scary. Will Anderson Jr. is 95 overall, Danielle Hunter is 92, and Derek Stingley Jr. is a 92-overall X-Factor. That star trio explains the #2 optimal rush and #2 coverage rankings. Houston can pressure and cover without constantly gambling.
The Texans rank 7th in YPI, so the core has plenty of long-term value. The problem is flexibility: 24th in draft capital and 31st in salary cap. The stars are already here — the coach's job is keeping them together and fixing the offensive line before cap pressure becomes painful.
Atlanta is built around Bijan Robinson, a 95-overall X-Factor, and Drake London, a 92-overall receiver. Chris Lindstrom is a 93-overall guard and helps explain the 5th-ranked offensive line. Quarterback is the problem at 25th, but the supporting cast is good enough that a competent answer under center can unlock the whole offense.
Jessie Bates III is the defensive star and one of the best safeties in the game. A.J. Terrell gives the secondary another premium piece, helping Atlanta rank 9th in coverage. The front is the issue: 29th in rush and 31st against the run. The coach has to invest in the front seven.
Atlanta's #2 salary-cap ranking is what makes the roster exciting despite a mediocre 20th YPI. There is enough financial room to attack quarterback and defensive line aggressively. This is one of the better 'fix two things and go' rosters in the middle of the rankings.
Cleveland's offense needs help, but there are useful pieces. Elgton Jenkins gives the line a proven veteran, while Quinshon Judkins and Jerry Jeudy can still create offense. The Browns rank 30th at quarterback, 21st on the line, and 24th in weapons, so there is no hiding the fact that this side of the ball needs serious work.
The defense gives Cleveland a chance to survive the rebuild. Denzel Ward is a 93-overall corner, and Jared Verse brings an 88-overall edge presence. With 13th-ranked coverage and an 11th-ranked rush, the Browns can at least make opponents earn points while the offense catches up.
The Browns have the #2 draft-capital ranking, which is exactly what a flawed roster needs. YPI is a respectable 13th and the cap sits 15th. This is not a finished product, but the coach has real resources to go find a quarterback and another offensive playmaker.
This is where the board gets dangerous. These teams are imperfect, but several have one elite trait, major cap space, premium draft capital or a young core that could make the ranking look silly by Year 2.
Arizona has one of the best individual weapons in Madden 27 with Trey McBride, who gives the offense an elite target in the middle of the field. Marvin Harrison Jr. provides another young building block on the outside, but quarterback remains the biggest question. Rookie Carson Beck makes this situation especially interesting — he could legitimately push Jacoby Brissett for the starting job from Day 1. If Beck develops quickly, this offense suddenly has a young QB paired with two excellent weapons to build around.
Budda Baker remains the heart of the Cardinals defense and gives the secondary a proven playmaker, but there is a lot of work to do around him. Arizona ranks 29th in Optimal Rush, 29th in Run Defense, and 26th in Coverage, making this one of the weaker defensive units entering the cycle. The good news is that the weaknesses are obvious — adding speed off the edge and another impact player in the secondary should be at the top of the coach's shopping list.
This is where Arizona becomes extremely attractive. The Cardinals rank 6th in YPI and an incredible #1 in Salary Cap, giving their coach enormous flexibility to reshape the roster. Trey McBride and Marvin Harrison Jr. already provide young offensive cornerstones, and Carson Beck could become the most important piece of all if he wins the quarterback job. With average 12th-ranked Draft Capital but elite cap flexibility, Arizona has the resources to attack its defensive weaknesses quickly. This could be a very rewarding franchise for a coach willing to build it.
Indianapolis can build the offense around Jonathan Taylor, a 96-overall running back, and Quenton Nelson, a 94-overall guard. That star power explains the 4th-ranked offensive line. Quarterback is still a concern at 28th, but the Colts at least have the blocking and run game to protect whoever is under center.
DeForest Buckner remains the defensive centerpiece, and the Colts rank an excellent 5th in coverage. The problem is the 27th-ranked run defense. Against physical teams, Indianapolis may have to commit extra resources to the box and trust the secondary to hold up.
The Colts rank 6th in salary cap, which gives the coach room to attack quarterback or defensive help. The drawback is 31st in draft capital and only 22nd in YPI. This roster has enough veteran stars to compete, but not much room for wasted moves.
The Giants have real pieces even though the offensive rankings are ugly. Andrew Thomas is a 93-overall left tackle, Malik Nabers is an 86-overall explosive receiver, and Jaxson Dart gives the offense a young quarterback to develop. The weapons rank 27th, so Nabers needs help, but at least the franchise already owns a premium tackle and a potential quarterback answer.
Brian Burns gives the Giants an 89-overall edge rusher, while Abdul Carter adds another young pass-rush piece. The defense is not elite on paper — 16th in rush, 12th against the run, 18th in coverage — but there is enough talent to build an identity around pressure.
The reason I keep circling this roster is the #3 YPI. Nabers, Dart, Carter and other young pieces give the Giants real upside, while the cap is a manageable 14th. Draft capital is only 27th, so development matters more than volume of picks.
The Jets have legitimate offensive weapons in Breece Hall and Garrett Wilson, but quarterback is dead last at #32. Geno Smith is the immediate veteran option, while rookie Cade Klubnik is the developmental swing. If Geno struggles, Klubnik could get a real chance to prove whether he is the long-term answer.
The defense has more talent than the overall ranking suggests. Demario Davis and Minkah Fitzpatrick give the unit veteran star power, while the front has enough size to make teams work. Still, the category rankings are only 23rd in rush, 24th against the run, and 21st in coverage.
This is one of the best rebuild situations in the league because the Jets are #1 in draft capital, #5 in salary cap, and #5 in YPI. The roster has obvious flaws, but almost no team gives a coach more resources to fix them. If Cade Klubnik develops, the rebuild can accelerate immediately.
Washington's offense has strong veteran infrastructure. Laremy Tunsil is a 94-overall left tackle, Terry McLaurin remains a 91-overall X-Factor, and Jayden Daniels gives the offense a dynamic quarterback even if his current Madden overall is only 80. That is enough to make the 8th-ranked QB outlook feel dangerous in the right hands.
The defense is much less intimidating on paper. Da'Ron Payne and Leo Chenal give the front useful pieces, but Washington ranks around the bottom third in all three defensive categories. The coach will need scheme and user play to create pressure rather than relying on raw roster dominance.
Washington is only 25th in YPI, but 12th-ranked draft capital and an excellent 8th-ranked cap give the roster room to grow. Daniels, Tunsil and McLaurin are enough to keep the offense competitive while the defense gets rebuilt.
Dallas still has elite offensive talent. CeeDee Lamb is a 93-overall X-Factor and Dak Prescott remains a 91-overall veteran quarterback. The line ranks only 21st, but the weapons are 13th, which is enough for a good user to keep the passing game dangerous.
The Cowboys have a massive interior difference-maker in Quinnen Williams at 92 overall. Dallas also ranks 9th against the run, giving the defense a sturdy base even though the rush and coverage sit closer to the middle of the league.
Dallas is 17th in YPI, but roster flexibility is the real concern: 28th in draft capital and 26th in salary cap. Lamb, Dak and Quinnen can carry a lot, but the coach will have fewer easy ways to replace aging or expensive pieces.
Las Vegas has an offensive centerpiece in Brock Bowers, a 93-overall tight end who can become a mismatch machine for years. Kolton Miller gives the line a dependable veteran tackle. The real story is rookie quarterback Fernando Mendoza, who probably has the best chance among this rookie group to start quickly and could completely change the franchise's outlook.
Maxx Crosby remains the identity of the defense at 97 overall. The problem is that the overall unit ranks only 26th in rush and 25th in coverage, which means Crosby is doing a lot of the heavy lifting by himself. The run defense is much better at 11th.
The Raiders rank 7th in salary cap, with middle-of-the-pack draft capital and YPI. That gives the coach room to build around Bowers and Mendoza if the rookie hits. If Mendoza becomes the starter, this roster becomes much more interesting than its #21 overall ranking.
Pittsburgh has offensive weapons, but quarterback is the question. D.K. Metcalf and Michael Pittman Jr. give the passing game size and physicality, while Aaron Rodgers is the short-term veteran answer. Rookie Drew Allar could become the next man up as soon as next season, which makes his development one of the biggest franchise storylines on the roster.
The Steelers can win games with defense immediately. Cameron Heyward is 95 overall, T.J. Watt is 93, and Jalen Ramsey is 90. That star trio explains the ridiculous #2 rush, #4 run defense, and #4 coverage rankings. This is a defense capable of carrying a shaky offense.
Pittsburgh is only 24th in YPI, with mediocre draft capital and cap space. That puts enormous importance on Drew Allar. If he becomes a legitimate starter, the Steelers can spend future resources elsewhere; if he does not, quarterback becomes an expensive problem all over again.
The bottom eight are not death sentences — they are roster-building challenges. If you love drafting, cap management and turning weaknesses into an identity, these are the teams that can make the cycle the most rewarding.
Cincinnati's offense still revolves around Joe Burrow and Ja'Marr Chase, two of the best passing-game pieces in Madden 27. Chase is 99 overall and Burrow is 97, while the weapons rank 6th. The problem is the #32 offensive line, so the coach has to get the ball out quickly or risk wasting elite skill talent behind terrible protection.
The defense has an unexpected star in Dexter Lawrence II, a 93-overall interior monster, and the pass rush ranks 6th. Unfortunately, the rest of the unit is shaky: 30th against the run and 28th in coverage. Lawrence can wreck plays, but he cannot solve every weakness.
Cincinnati is only 27th in YPI, with average draft capital and cap space. Burrow and Chase keep the floor high, but the coach needs to invest heavily in protection and defense before this roster can become balanced.
Minnesota's offense still has a true superstar in Justin Jefferson at 94 overall. Christian Darrisaw and Brian O'Neill give the Vikings a strong tackle duo, but quarterback ranks only 27th. The supporting cast is good enough to compete, but the offense needs stability under center to reach its ceiling.
The defense has useful pieces like Byron Murphy Jr. and Andrew Van Ginkel, but the overall profile is only average: 28th in rush, 20th against the run, and 19th in coverage. There is no one category a coach can rely on every week.
The biggest issue is the #32 YPI. Minnesota does have 5th-ranked draft capital and 10th-ranked salary cap, so the tools for a rebuild exist. Jefferson gives you an elite centerpiece, but the rest of the roster needs a youth infusion quickly.
Jacksonville at least has a quarterback foundation with Trevor Lawrence, and the roster's 12th-ranked QB outlook reflects that. The problem is everything around him: 27th on the line and 28th in weapons. Lawrence can make throws, but the coach has to improve protection and create more reliable targets.
The defense is where Jacksonville's best players live. Josh Hines-Allen gives the front a proven edge threat, while Foyesade Oluokun brings speed and tackling in the middle. The unit ranks 14th against the run and 12th in coverage, giving the coach enough structure to survive while the offense gets rebuilt.
Jacksonville is 21st in YPI, 12th in draft capital, and 28th in salary cap. The quarterback is already in place, which matters, but the cap makes it harder to fix the weak supporting cast quickly. This feels like a two-offseason project.
Green Bay's offense has a dependable backfield weapon in Josh Jacobs, and the quarterback room ranks a strong 7th. The problem is the 30th-ranked offensive line. If the coach can stabilize protection, the Packers have enough skill talent to score; if not, every passing concept becomes harder than it should be.
The defense has premium star power. Micah Parsons is a 98-overall X-Factor and instantly gives Green Bay a terrifying edge threat, while Xavier McKinney is a 92-overall safety. That explains the 5th-ranked optimal rush, even though run defense and coverage sit closer to the middle of the pack.
Green Bay is only 28th in YPI and 30th in draft capital, so there is less future flexibility than the roster's star names suggest. Parsons and McKinney give you two premium defensive anchors, but the coach has to hit on development and avoid wasting cap space.
Carolina has a sturdy 11th-ranked offensive line, but the weapons rank 31st and quarterback only 24th. Bryce Young gets the first crack, but rookie Haynes King is the fascinating backup. His speed gives the offense a completely different dimension, and if Bryce fails, King could become the next man in line.
The Panthers have real defensive pieces in Derrick Brown, a 96-overall tackle, plus Devin Lloyd and Jaycee Horn. The rankings are still modest — 23rd in rush, 16th against the run, 24th in coverage — but there is enough talent here to build around.
Carolina is 23rd in YPI, but 6th-ranked draft capital gives the coach a real pathway out. The cap is only 25th, so rookie development matters. If Haynes King surprises, Carolina suddenly gets a cheap quarterback solution while using picks on weapons and defense.
New Orleans actually has some useful offensive talent despite ranking #30 overall. Chris Olave is an 87-overall receiver, Erik McCoy is an 87-overall center, and Travis Etienne Jr. gives the backfield another 87-overall weapon. The offense is not elite, but it is far from hopeless.
The defense is the major problem. New Orleans ranks 31st in rush, 32nd against the run, and 30th in coverage. Veterans like Justin Reid and Chase Young provide some individual talent, but the unit needs upgrades at almost every level.
The Saints are a respectable 14th in YPI and 11th in salary cap, so the rebuild is not impossible. The coach simply has to be disciplined: Olave, McCoy and Etienne give the offense a base, while most meaningful resources should go toward fixing the defense.
Miami's offense is in a rough spot statistically, but De'Von Achane remains an explosive 88-overall weapon and Aaron Brewer gives the line a 90-overall center. The problem is the rest of the unit: 23rd at quarterback, 26th on the line, and dead last at 32nd in weapons. Achane can create big plays, but he cannot carry the whole offense.
The defense has a dependable linebacker in Jordyn Brooks, but the rankings are brutal: 31st in rush and 32nd in coverage. The run defense is better at 19th, but opposing quarterbacks should have favorable matchups unless the pass rush improves dramatically.
Miami's saving grace is flexibility: #3 in salary cap and 7th in draft capital. The bad news is 31st in YPI. This is a true roster overhaul, but at least the coach has enough resources to make aggressive moves instead of being trapped.
Tennessee has a few offensive pieces worth keeping. Peter Skoronski gives the line an 84-overall building block, while Wan'Dale Robinson and Tony Pollard provide useful skill talent. Cameron Ward remains an intriguing quarterback option, but the overall offense ranks 31st on the line and 30th in weapons, so the environment around him is difficult.
The defense revolves around Jeffery Simmons, a 95-overall Superstar who can dominate the interior. The Titans are respectable at 15th in rush and 16th against the run, but the 31st-ranked coverage is a massive weakness. Simmons can wreck protections, but the secondary needs major help.
Tennessee ranks 26th in YPI, 12th in draft capital, and 23rd in salary cap. There is no single easy fix. The coach needs Ward or another quarterback to develop, while also improving protection and coverage. This is the deepest rebuild on the board.
