The Eagles are a top team for a reason, Barkley, Hurts, Brown, Smith, the list goes on and on. The defensive line is very strong as well, and that's something that is right up Coach Canes alley. He has a few tests early with the Cowboys, Chiefs, Rams and Buccaneers so we will know quickly where the Eagles are going to stand and if they will live up to the hype!
Right out the gate Hicks has to play MMX and the Ravens, a matchup a lot of us are predicting to be the AFC Championship this season! Coach Hicks is a former professional football player, for those who didnt know. Guess what his position was? It was Quarterback. Now Hicks knows how to read defenses, and with that skill along with arguably the best QB in the game, that spells danger! The Bills are ranked 2nd to start the edition, but #1 is right on the horizon.
Coach Beast had himself a great Madden 25 with 3 Super Bowl appearances with the Bills, all losses to the Packers. So now enter the 49ers, the 49ers still have a great roster, strong offensive weapons with a great hall of fame coach. The 49ers upside is very high, and we're very high on them as well. I think Beast could easily be the favorite to make it out of the NFC and even rise higher in the rankings than 3.
A lot of people are calling the Madden 26 Ravens, the greatest Madden team ever put together. And it's hard to argue that. Lamar Jackson, Derrick Henry alone is not a fair 1/2 punch for everyone else. Coach MMX has been a middle of the pack kind of coach for the last few editions, making the playoffs, winning 10, 11 games or 7 or 8, but always flirts with 500. With this team, he will be a juggernaut. I expect Baltimore to be right at the top of the rankings all season.
Weezy is no longer referred to as "Bhicks brother". Weezy has and is building his own MOF legacy here and last edition proved that. He came in a little late in the edition but took the Denver Broncos to new heights. Weezy has a very strong team in the Rams, the only issue is their aging QB but Weezy proved that he can pretty much play with any QB just like his brother. I expect Weezy to challenge Beast for that West title and the rankings top spot.
Coach Q enters the Madden 26 edition with the Houston Texans! We all know he was aiming for the Baltimore Ravens, but the Texans are in some ways the mini Ravens! They have two great backs in Mixon and Chubb, they have CJ Stroud, Nico Collins. They have a lot of weapons, and like we mentioned, the 2 headed RB tandem that Coach Q loves so much. The Texans are going to be a force, with a great coach and a great roster the sky is the limit!
Daz's two seasons last edition was a tale of two different teams. He finished 14-3 in Season 80 and was 3 points away from a SB appearance, and then in Season 81 he finished 7-10. So will the real DazHavoc please stand up? I believe truthfully he's probably right in the middle of those two records, which makes him a top 10 coach and team heading into Madden 26 and Season 82. Look out for the Commanders, they have talent and a great QB.
We know the talent that Coach MrWitness provides, it's hall of fame worthy and he's always a top coach season in and season out. Last edition was a little rocky for Witness, with the Jets. However, now he has a clean slate with a very strong Broncos team who has strength in all the right places. QB Bo Nix's ceiling is high, and CB Patrick Surtain could be the best CB in the league. Witness should be right there when the smoke settles battling for an AFC Championship.
The Chiefs come in ranked 9th in the pre-seaon rankings, with Coach Bubba returning for another edition as the Chiefs head coach. Last edition, Bubba did very well with Mahomes and company, virtually making the playoffs every season. Now, Bubba's best edition I believe was Madden 24 with the Bills, but with the passing mechanics in this game, and the best QB to control, I think we might see some serious numbers out of Bubba with these Chiefs!
10. Cleveland Browns
The Browns come in ranked 10th overall in the pre-season rankings, and Coach Domi deserves every bit of the hype. Domi sat out last season, but his last season (Season 80) he finished 15-2 with the Arizona Cardinals, yes the Arizona Cardinals, in a dominant season to say the least. Kyler Murray was on fire, as Coach Domi showed he has what it takes to compete with the best of them here in the MOF. It will be fun to see him with Shedeur, if he starts him!
11. New York Jets
Coach Enzo's Jets are coming in at 11 in the pre-season rankings. Enzo had himself a fantastic comeback edition with the Browns in Madden 25. Taking a rookie in QB - Gordon McDonald to new superstar status! It will be fun to see what he can do with Justin Fields and the Jets who have a very good roster. Breece Hall and Garrett Wilson are a great 1/2 punch, let's see if Enzo can make some moves with his favorite team.
12. Seattle Seahawks
The Seahawks and Coach Roclo come in at 12 in the pre-season power rankings, and for good reason. Roclo had a great edition with the Commanders in Madden 25. Now, I think the Seahawks have a great roster too especially with Kenneth Walker III at RB. They also have some good defensive backs with Woolen leading the charge. We'll see what he does at QB if Darnold is the answer or not, but Roc should be a strong competitor this edition.
Coach Knight's Saints come in ranked 13th to start the season. This is Knight's first time starting from season 1 of the edition in a very long time! Knight took the Cardinals over last season and just barely missed the playoffs. The Saints might have a low rating, and not such a great roster, but Knight's skills are up at the top of the league so we expect him to be really competitive with this team.
14. Detroit Lions
The Lions and Commish Jeff come in at 14 as their schedule is pretty brutal to start the season. Packers, Ravens, and Browns all expect to be pretty decent coming out of the gates, so we will see where Commish will stand after those 4 games. I think the Lions are a very strong team with a ton of weapons, however we know Commish's skills havent been there like in the past, so it'll be interesting to see where he finishes.
Another edition, and another BigDre Jaguars marriage. Coming in at 15th overall, the Jacksonville Jaguars! This will be Dre's 32nd straight season as the Jaguars head coach, an MOF record. Dre is a perennial playoff team, and hasn't had a losing record since Season 72 where he went 8-9. Dre knows how to win, and he knows how to play with his Jags. I expect a lot out of them this season, and edition. He should climb his way right up these rankings in no time.
The Colts enter the new season with plenty to prove after a poor edition in Madden 25. MackDaddy as we know has shown flashes of sharp game-planning, but consistency will be the key if Indy wants to make noise in a crowded AFC. With young talent on both sides of the ball and an offense that can move the chains when it’s clicking, the Colts are a sneaky team to watch — but they’ll need to string wins together early to stay relevant.
Coach Boobie_MTZ7 takes over a Cardinals squad that’s brimming with potential but still searching for an identity. Last season showed glimpses of what this team could be under Knight and Domi, an aggressive defense paired with an offense that thrives when the run game gets rolling. The challenge will be bringing it all together against tougher NFC competition. If the Cards can avoid slow starts and finish games strong, they have the tools to surprise teams and climb these rankings quickly.
Coach CheeferD comes into this season with a Buccaneers roster that has talent but faces steep competition in the NFC South. The Bucs showed fight last edition under Reub and Jfon, keeping games closer than the record might suggest, but closing out opponents has been the stumbling block. With a solid receiving corps and a defense that can generate turnovers, Tampa Bay has the pieces to hang around. Execution and consistency will determine if they can move out of the bottom tier.
Coach Jfon returns to the MOF after a short stint with the Buccaneers last edition, this time taking over a Bengals squad that has the firepower to compete right away. With an elite QB and plenty of playmakers, the offense won’t be the problem — it’s about whether Jfon can settle in and build consistency after bouncing teams. If the defense can hold its own and the coach stays locked in, Cincinnati could be a dangerous spoiler as the season unfolds.
Coach Shawtypizzle makes the move from Miami to Los Angeles, bringing with him the confidence of a recent CFB World Cup championship. The Chargers roster offers a fresh start, with a franchise quarterback and plenty of offensive firepower to work with. The big question is whether Shawtypizzle can translate his College Football success into sustained Madden results. If he can tighten up the defense and avoid costly turnovers, the Bolts could rise much higher than this ranking suggests.
Coach Krayzie300 sticks with the Vikings for another cycle, bringing stability and familiarity to a roster loaded with offensive talent. Last edition, Krayzie hovered right around the .500 mark for five straight seasons — always competitive, but never quite breaking through. With experience running this team and a clear understanding of its strengths, the pieces are in place for another solid campaign. To climb the rankings, Minnesota will need to turn those close losses into signature wins.
Coach Mindenplaya takes over the Steelers fresh off an impressive run with the Ravens that ended in the AFC Championship and a narrow Super Bowl defeat. Expectations will be high, but Pittsburgh offers a very different challenge with a younger roster and a defense-first identity. If Minden can bring the same disciplined approach that carried him deep last edition, the Steelers could easily outplay this ranking. Don’t be surprised if Pittsburgh is back in the playoff mix quickly.
23. Atlanta Falcons
Coach BigReg returns to Atlanta for another go, hoping to finally change the narrative after five straight seasons without a playoff berth. The Falcons roster has speed and young talent in key spots, but finding consistency has been the challenge. BigReg has shown he can compete in spurts, but breaking through in a competitive NFC will require more discipline on both sides of the ball. This season feels like a make-or-break opportunity to prove doubters wrong.
24. Dallas Cowboys
Coach QC enters his second MOF season after a rocky debut with the 49ers that ended at 2-12. Now he inherits the star power of the Cowboys, a roster with plenty of talent on both sides of the ball. The question is whether QC can take the lessons from a tough first year and grow into a more consistent threat. With patience and development, Dallas could be a better fit — but the pressure is on to show progress quickly.
Coach Alex, formerly with the Texans, shifts gears to Green Bay after a grueling last edition where it took four tough seasons before finally breaking through to the playoffs in Year 5. That perseverance shows he can grind through adversity, and the Packers offer a fresh slate with a roster full of young pieces to develop. If Alex can build early momentum and avoid another slow start, Green Bay could quietly turn into one of the NFC’s surprise risers.
Coach Gouch moves from Pittsburgh to Las Vegas, looking to spark a Raiders team that’s hungry for relevance. In Madden ’25, Gouch’s Steelers made the playoffs a couple of times, but a true deep run always seemed just out of reach. With a new roster and a fresh start, he’ll look to bring that same playoff experience to the desert. The key will be consistency — if Gouch can put it all together, the Raiders could surprise.
Coach TSG_Lee34 makes the move from New England to Carolina, still in search of his first playoff appearance in the MOF. While his tenure has been short so far, the lack of postseason experience has left plenty to prove. The Panthers’ young roster offers some intriguing building blocks, but the road won’t be easy in a competitive NFC. If TSG can develop consistency and avoid the growing pains that plagued him in New England, progress should follow.
28. New York Giants
Coach BuffaloBill takes on the Giants this cycle, bringing his passion as a lifelong Bills fan but coming off a tough stretch with the Seahawks where he missed the playoffs in all five seasons. The reset in New York gives him a chance to regroup with a roster that has some intriguing young talent but also plenty of question marks. If BuffaloBill can tighten up his game management and find stability, the Giants could slowly climb out of the basement.
Coach Bengalsonly_7 shifts from Cincinnati to New England, hoping to find the spark that carried him to the playoffs in his very first MOF season last edition. Unfortunately, that early success was followed by four straight misses, and the inconsistency has kept him from taking the next step. The Patriots roster offers a new challenge with limited firepower, so patience and smart roster building will be critical. If Bengalsonly can recapture that debut magic, New England could surprise a few teams.
30. Tennessee Titans
Coach ELBuccs takes control of the Titans after a rough stretch with the Eagles in Madden ’25, where the playoffs remained out of reach. In fact, postseason success has eluded him entirely across 20 MOF seasons, a streak he’s determined to break. Tennessee provides a fresh opportunity with a physical roster built around a strong ground game. If ELBuccs can establish consistency and limit mistakes, the Titans could finally turn the corner — but the pressure is mounting.
31. Chicago Bears
Coach Remo357 stays loyal to Chicago, once again steering the Bears after a full Madden ’25 cycle without a single playoff berth. In fact, despite 40 seasons in the MOF, Remo is still chasing his first-ever postseason appearance. The Bears roster offers some young pieces to work with, but history has not been kind. For Remo, it’s all about breaking old habits and finding consistency. Until then, Chicago remains in rebuilding mode at the bottom of the rankings.
32. Miami Dolphins
Coach Texmexgalvan takes over in Miami after running with the Titans last edition, where the playoffs never came despite five tries. Across an incredible 55-season MOF career, Tex has only reached the postseason three times — a stat that highlights both his persistence and his struggles. The Dolphins bring speed and talent to the table, but translating that into wins will be the challenge. If Tex can finally flip the script, Miami could surprise, but expectations remain tempered.
